We welcome applicants who are enthusiastic to join us on this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Education Manager provides comprehensive management for key projects integral to the Symphony&#8217;s implementation of a wide range of nationally and internationa l ly recogn iz ed music education initiatives, including the award-winning Adventures in Music (AIM) program, Concerts for Kids (CFK), Music for Families, and other programs. The posit i on is part of a dynamic team working in a creative environment. The position reports to the Associate Director, Curriculum and Engagement. I t also supports the Director of Education Programs and Youth Orchestra, and provides project support as needed for the Senior Director of Orchestra and EdUJcation Planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education Project Management<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Manage distribution of educationa l materials (approx. 100,000 pieces each year) for all Educat io n Dept. programs, in clud i ng intake , tracking, storage, and archiv in g.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hire and supervise a staff of 4 temporary personnel during var i ous distribution periods each season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage Education Department&#8217;s resource database, including documentation of intake, in house\/off-site storage and retrieval, cata lo g i ng, and archiving of materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage attributes of the SFS Tessitura database pertaining to Education programs .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with training and evaluat io n of 30+ AlM ensemb l e artists to develop in -sc hool presentations in accordance with SFS and SFUSD commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion . Document and track each ensemble&#8217;s program, as well as related feedback from the Education Team, to evaluate p ro gress thr oughout the training period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate on A IM Curricu lum and Student Journal production and proofing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor des ig nated AIM program presentations at SFUSD elementary school s i tes. Perform evaluations in accordance with observational rubrics for AIM ensemble musicians. Evaluate outcomes to dete rm in e program adjustments for ensemb l es.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the Visual Arts Project, including collection and registration of artwork, coord in ation of adjudication process, curatorial responsibilities, communication to schoo l s, collaboration with SF Public Library regarding installation, and customized acknow l edgements to entrants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage Education budget documentation, including expense data, reconci li ations, reclasses, and budget research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage product io n of Education Program workshops, including logistical planning, setup, and implementation for Education Docent Workshops, AIM Teacher Training Workshops, SFUSD professional development for Visual and Perfo r m i ng Arts educators, and other events as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor front-of -ho usefor AIM and CFK concerts throughout the season to facilitate logistics and troubleshoot; exercise judgment in solving difficulties-both independently and in collaboration with front-of-house staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist the Associate Director of Curriculum and Engagement on insuring compliance with SFUSD policies on arts education, equitable access, and culturally responsive content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oversee all program mailings, utilizing Education Department databases or Tess it ura contact to assemble lists and secure labels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General &#8211; Program and Administrative Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate Department events, including interfacing with SFS Operat ions Department, War Memorial Eng i neer staff, and catering vendors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize and respond to email and phone communication from internal and external stakeholders, includ ing school personnel and patrons; prepare email communications for schools and res pond to inquiries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide support to the SFS Education Docent Chair; facilitate success of CFK Educat ion Docent Training and Docent activity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proofread all Education Department publications, schedules, and written communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain the Ed ucation Department&#8217;s repertoire lists and reference documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gather and analyze data for statistical reportage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with archiving and digiti zi ng Education Department assets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ad hoc dut ies as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Three to five years&#8217; experience in the Arts Education fie ld, with preference for a candidate from a music education administration background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expertise with Windows-based software, pa rt icularly Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on complex mail merges and database manipulation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong written and verbal ski lls , especially related to English grammar and usage; professional phone manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demon stra ted ability to work as part of a team, with a wide range of people i nclud i n g sc h ool personnel, musicians, volunteers, board members, and various SFS administrative department s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational skills, with ability to work in dependently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to exercise prof ess iona l judgment in k nowing when to ask for assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under standing of and sens it iv ity to the ex ig encies of public schoo l districts and campus environments .<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to complete tasks accurately an d on schedule.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be highly detail-oriented and work with a high degree of accuracy in recordkeeping, data entry, and reportage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be able to edit and proofread own work to ensure integrity before publishing memos\/reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated problem-solving skills;
