
Sr. Manager, Royalty Services at BMG (US)
Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our team in the timely processing and notification of BMG’s publishing agreements. In addition, you will be responsible for data updates, including song, royalty client, and royalty rate data, as well as conducting research, reporting, and analysis on information services and rights. You will collaborate with colleagues from various departments to ensure that our global strategy is executed effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining open and effective communication with external clients to provide the highest level of service. What You’ll Be Doing.
- Complete processing of BMG’s US intellectual property agreements (e.g. new Publishing, Modification, Extension, Option and Termination agreements as applicable)
- Handle data updates and cleanup (e.g. IP, client, rate data) with a focus on client and rate cleanup required resulting from client inquiries (e.g. via Client Services) or internally identified business needs.
- Review, research and provide timely responses to rights queries and information requests. Including, but not limited to those from BMG US business functions, writers, clients, publishers and affiliates
- Assist in maintaining and developing the relationships with admin customers and partners
- Manage, train and develop team members and report team KPIs while while building reports using Looker and Jira dashboards to provde resources for comepleteing and tracking reorts
- Engage in and handle other ongoing processes or ad-hoc projects as business needs dictate or as assigned by supervisor.
- Collaborate with BMG affiliate offices to improve and standardize processes.
Requirements
Must Haves.
- Previous experience in music rights administration (legal, copyright, royalties, licensing, etc.
- Basic understanding of music publishing and copyright industry practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills and the ability to identify when information is incomplete
- Strong contract interpretation skills and experience
- You are comfortable working in high paced environment and handling a high volume of varying complex data entry
A plus if you have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related role.
