Programming Lead at Spotify (US)

Job Description

As announced in our recent acquisition of Locker Room, Spotify is accelerating its entry into the live audio space. We are looking for a Programming Lead to redefine the way that fans connect with digital taste-makers through highly-relevant, reactionary live content across a range of sports, music, and cultural programming.

The right candidate is passionate about audio content, highly organized, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong project management skills, and is able to work with many different types of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a programming slate of high-performing live conversations, including the overall strategy and launch calendar
  • Create innovative formats that capture daily culture
  • Promote the new platform among industry influencers and identify high profile talent to be guests in different rooms
  • Create innovative growth plans and tactics to deliver outsized audience and consumption against related shows and conversations
  • Identify creator programming opportunities and determine the guidelines for operationalizing a creator support fund
  • Create a partnership model to bring new talent to Spotify at scale
  • Work with the current content teams at Spotify to bring opportunities to our existing creator pool across music and podcasting
  • You will work out of our LA office

Requirements

  • You have partner facing experience in Entertainment based programming, content and partnerships with experience at a digital first platform
  • You have a deep passion for pop-culture, film & tv, and youth focused entertainment
  • Knowledge of social platforms and influencer culture
  • You are passionate about the evolution of audio and enjoy consuming podcasts and other spoken word content
  • You believe that best-in-class customer service leads to better business results
  • You are self-motivated and have strong, pre-existing entertainment, agency, and media industry relationships across publishers, traditional media, and digital media companies
  • You thrive in a fast paced environment and high stakes situations and are comfortable taking accountability for KPIs, a team, and working as a leader within Spotify
  • You are a collaborator and enjoy driving results through consensus building, but are also comfortable asserting your own positions and going against-the-grain or status quo
  • You have experience building scalable partnership programs / solutions
  • You are comfortable using quantitative and qualitative data to build and drive strategy
