We are looking for an organized, energetic and diligent person to join our Pricing & Inventory team as a Pricing and Inventory Manager! You will be responsible for critical decision making, enabling the business to run on supply-led insights, with an in-depth understanding of our pricing trends as well as ensuring we properly and effectively monetize our inventory. You will help craft and execute long-term yield management strategies. You must be a consistent and clear communicator who isn’t afraid to push back and work closely with sales leads. You must be able to pull and analyze the data which will help the team make critical business decisions.
This role will report into the Head of International Pricing and Inventory within the Business Operation organization. The role is highly cross-functional, working across Product Marketing, Sales leadership, Product and Operations to ensure our products are priced appropriately and our inventory is used strategically. We want to help closing short term deals without jeopardizing long-term revenue whilst helping in implementing our Upfront business strategy as we work across various media holding companies.
This role will accelerate revenue through identification of levers and bottlenecks to leadership all within the framework of a constantly evolving revenue landscape. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music and podcast.
What You’ll Do:
- Directly manage, coach, inspire and lead a team of pricing and inventory-focused team members to support and drive revenue in accordance with Spotify’s sales strategy.
- Partner very closely with EMEA Sales leads on a weekly basis, building strong relationships in order to support the rapid growth and monetization of our evolving digital properties.
- Work with the Trading team in auditing and building successful partnerships agreements with media Holding Companies and clients direct.
- Build and implement pricing and inventory strategies to increase revenue and be responsible for yield management across all of our various channels – direct, programmatic, automation – and formats for EMEA markets.
- Manipulate large data sets and use a variety of data sources (dashboards, raw data files, etc.) to drive data-led pricing and inventory decisions daily and train a team of employees to do the same
- Manage the inventory forecasting process for all ad products being sold in the region and audit forecasting for accuracy
- Collaborate with Finance to develop revenue budgets and forecasts
- Help optimize operations and ensure workflows and business processes and as efficient as possible
- Produce vital pricing and inventory requirements to regional sales leads to achieve their targets and goals.
- Provide team guidance and coaching that strengthens team behaviors to bolster revenue.
- Provide bi-annual development talks to your direct reports inclusive of peer 360 feedback, areas of improvement, and future goals to drive ongoing career growth. Approve and communicate bi-annual compensation adjustments.
Requirements
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of experience in Pricing, and/or Digital Inventory & Yield for an Ad Agency, Publisher, Platform, Network or Ad Tech Vendor.
- Proven results creating and implementing strategies that drive growth, optimizing pricing and accurately reporting on business performance
- Strong programmatic background and a consistent record of building commercial agreements with Holding Companies
- Strategically-minded and communicator who desires to dive deep into data analysis and deliver insights and strategies to a commercial audience
- Knowledge in ad operations systems and the programmatic landscape, with demonstrated knowledge of Salesforce, Google Ad Manager, and/or another ad-serving platforms
- Understand the technical foundations of digital media, podcasts and programmatic mediums and have the ability to proactively identify solutions to problems
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and are eager to further refine and develop these skills
- Highly organized and focused multi-tasker with strong attention to detail, analytical and project management skills, and can work independently within a team focused organization
- Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Belief in the power of collaboration, and ability to work cross-functionally
- Dexterity with Google and Microsoft suite of products including Excel and PowerPoint and have experience working within CRMs, Order Management Systems, ad servers and other digital media tech systems
