Job Description

Create Music Group is currently looking for a Distribution Intern to join our Distribution Department. The Distribution intern will get anof how artists and labels release music to consumers in the world of independent music. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience using CMG systems while developing comprehensive knowledge and strategies for distributing music and video for our clients. Full-time availability is preferred; part-time is possible for the right applicant.

We distribute music for some of the most prominent major and independent labels domestically and globally, including Snoop Dogg, Marshmello, Future, 6ix9ine, Tory Lanez, Trippie Redd, Insomniac Records, WorldStarHipHop, Disciple Records, Kannibalen, Welcome Records and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting our distribution team with daily operations, including:

  • Metadata entry

  • Quality assurance

  • Queueing music releases

  • Assisting account manager with high-priority artist releases:

  • Inquiries and digital release support

  • DMCA copyright handlings

  • Retrieving artist assets and metadata

  • Updating spreadsheets and other administrative work

  • Ongoing research as it relates to client catalog

  • Assisting our distribution team with daily operations on Label Engine

  • Data entry

  • Conducting basic level research

  • Organizing large amounts of data efficiently

  • Marketing projects and artist features

Requirements

Who You Are

  • A college student with interest or experience in record label operations

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Familiarity with streaming/download platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Beatport, etc) + social media platforms (Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat)

  • Can organize large amounts of data efficiently

  • High attention to detail

  • An expert of time management

Additional Details

  • You need to be currently enrolled AND receiving college credit(s) for the internship

  • You are required to bring your own laptop for this position.

  • Duration is 3-4 months

  • 15 – 30 hours max per week
